Kaya Project

Kaya project is the musical incarnation of seb and natasha taylor.  based in the uk, the duo has achieved a name of world renown via their first three albums ‘walking through‘ (2004), ‘elixir‘ (2005) and ‘…& so it goes‘ (2008) – all released on interchill.  their 4th. album, ‘desert phase‘, will be available in the spring of 2010.

a skilled musician, seb plays guitar and other  instruments on many of the kaya project tracks as well as adeptly handling the programming and production. natasha contributes vocals, keyboard and flute throughout the compositions. over the years they have performed kaya project live sets at events in japan, canada, the us and australia. in  recent years seb has been busy working on music for television, including the award winning bbc natural world documentary ‘buddha, bees & the giant hornet queen’, as well as composing original music for various commercials.

seb has also been concentrating on his breakbeat project ‘digitalis’ with recent releases on ministry of sound, sinister recordings and sound of habib. his various electronic music projects have previously had bbc radio one airplay from the likes of annie nightingale, john peel, danny rampling, pathaan and brandon block. also  released in 2008 is the long awaited hibernation album (on the israeli label aleph zero records). hibernation delves into more experimental electronic territory as has been heard on compilations from interchill (arcana, bliminal), new land music (max chillroom) and aleph zero (midnight soul dive).

previous kaya project tracks have been heard on tv shows such as showtime’s ’sleeper cell’, & numerous compilations including claude challe’s renowned ‘buddha bar’ series. angel tears tracks (another of seb’s many projects) have been heard on shows such as hbo’s sex & the city, the west wing & many others.

Bonobo

Simon Green alias Bonobo est un producteur, compositeur et DJ anglais, sur le label Ninja Tune.

À 18 ans, il partit pour Brighton où il fit ses débuts avec l’album Animal Magic en 2000. Avec cet album, non seulement autoproduit mais où il réalisa également la majeure partie de l’instrumental, il devint un des pionniers du new down tempo. Sa musique a vite su séduire les grands labels du genre, il signa un contrat chez Ninja Tune en 2001.

Easily Embarrassed

Easily Embarrassed is an independent abstract ambient downtempo music project, close to psychedelic or Psybient. The current members are brothers Nick and Jeffrey van der Schilden.

Their sound is mainly build around western synthesizer-based ambient and melody, with sampled vocals, atmosphere and slowed beats.

Together with Peter Spaargaren, the project released 2 EP demos in 2006 around the internet, of which Darkened Emotion got official re-released at the dutch Cardamar Music label followed by their debut album Idyllic Life in 2008.

Peter left the project as a constant member after the release of Idyllic Life.

Skazi

Skazi (Asher Swissa) est un DJ Israelien de Psychedelic Trance, en activité depuis 1998.

Il a sorti son premier album, Animal, en 2000.

Skazi est un ancien punk et hardcore. Il melange psytrance avec hardcore, techno, et des sons avec de la guitarre electrique. En 2002 Skazi sort son deuxieme album, Storm. Skazi sort 4 compilations entre 2001 et 2004 : Zoo, Zoo2, Zoo3 et Most Wanted avec un succès populaire, parvenant à figurer aux palmarès de ventes.

Assaf B-Bass a rejoint Asher Swissa après la sortie d’Animal, cependant Asher reste le représentant principal du groupe.

Skazi se produit lors de grandes raves face à des dizaines de milliers de personnes. Il a particié à des festivals de psytrance dans de nombreux pays, dont : Israël, Japon, Brésil, Mexique, Allemagne, Grèce, Serbie, Afrique du Sud, Suisse, Hollande, Portugal, Australie, Russie, Inde, Espagne, Royaume-Uni, Bulgarie, Italie, Hongrie, Danemark, Suède. Skazi a joué dans plus de 1000 fêtes pendant ces six dernieres années.

Son label est Chemical Crew.

Shpongle

Shpongle (pronounced /ˈʃpɒŋɡəl/) is a psychedelic downtempo or Psybient music project. The core members are Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen) and Raja Ram (one third of The Infinity Project), but they often collaborate with other artists. Their sound has sampled eastern ethnic instruments and western contemporary synthesizer-based psychedelic music. Posford is responsible for the synth and studio work while Raja Ram contributes with flute arrangements.

The name “Shpongle” is not a dictionary recognized word; it is derived from a rumor that Raja Ram was asked at a party how he was feeling, to which he replied, “I feel… Shpongled”.

Shpongle’s first track, Vapour Rumours, was released on TIP Records’ Infinite Excursions compilation in 1996. Their debut album, Are You Shpongled?, was released 1998 on Twisted Records. Are You Shpongled? and Twisted Records’ first downtempo compilation, …and the Day Turned to Night, were influential in the then-small psychedelic downtempo genre.

In January 2007, Twisted Records announced that a fourth Shpongle album was being recorded, to be released in early 2009. The current projected release date is mid November 2009. The album will be named “Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland” and will have the catalogue number TWSCD36.
